Paisu Pok Lake

Paisu Pok Lake is located on Peleng Island, Luk Panenteng Village, North Bulagi District, Banggai Islands Regency, Central Sulawesi.

Paisu Pok Lake is approximately 3.5 hours' drive from Salakan, the regency capital. It is accessible by both two- and four-wheeled vehicles. Although the road is still being paved, the lake itself covers an area of approximately 1.2 hectares with a depth of 5 to 15 meters.

The name "Paisu Pok" comes from the local language of the Sea-sea tribe, meaning "black water lake." The black color of the lake bottom comes from seagrass and centuries-old dead tree trunks, which contribute to the water's clarity. Visitors can easily see the lake's bottom, which is adorned with aquatic flora and fauna, including free-swimming fish.

Surrounded by tall trees 20–25 meters tall, the lake's atmosphere is cool and calming. This view is further enhanced by the water's surface, which reflects the beauty of its surroundings like a natural mirror.

This lake is home to endemic species such as the Banggai Crow and the Tarsier, which can only be found on Peleng Island in the Banggai Islands. The presence of these rare species makes Lake Paisupok not only a tourist destination but also an important location for biodiversity conservation.

The tourist area management has provided various facilities for visitor convenience, such as a pier, walkways, eight gazebos, a guard room, a temporary prayer room, restrooms, and changing rooms. Entrance is only IDR 10,000 per person, with an additional IDR 30,000 per gazebo rental fee.

Visitors can also enjoy exciting activities such as boating for IDR 30,000 per unit or snorkeling for IDR 30,000 per set of equipment. For those who want to enjoy the night view on the lake, a camping ground is available for IDR 35,000 per day. However, visitors must bring their own camping equipment, as there are no camping equipment available on site. To make it easier to find, Lake Paisupok has been marked on Google Maps.
