Mount Bromo (from Sanskrit: Brahma, namely one of the main gods in Hinduism) or in the Tengger language spelled "Brama", is an active volcano in East Java, Indonesia. This mountain has a height of 2,329 meters above sea level and is located in four districts, namely Probolinggo Regency, Pasuruan Regency, Lumajang Regency and Malang Regency. Mount Bromo is famous as a major tourist attraction in East Java. As a tourist attraction, Bromo is interesting because of its status as an active volcano. Mount Bromo is included in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park area. The body shape of Mount Bromo is linked between valleys and canyons with a caldera or sea of sand covering an area of about 10 square kilometers. It has a crater with a diameter of ± 800 meters (north-south) and ± 600 meters (east-west). Meanwhile, the danger area is a circle with a radius of 4 km from the center of the Bromo crater. For the residents around Mount Bromo, the Tengger tribe, Mount Bromo/Mount Brahma is believed to be a holy mountain. Once a year the people of Tengger hold the Yadnya Kasada or Kasodo ceremony. This ceremony took place in a temple at the foot of Mount Bromo and continued to the top of Bromo. The ceremony is held at midnight until early morning every full moon around the 14th or 15th of the month of Kasodo (tenth) according to the Javanese calendar. The vast expanse of sea of sand with the towering Mount Batok, the beautiful Mount Bromo, and surrounded by mountains and hills, is the extraordinary charm of Mount Bromo, which is in the Tengger area, East Java. There are two options for navigating the sea of sand, using a rented hardtop vehicle or riding a horse. In the middle of the sea of sand, stands a temple which houses Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa, who is revered by Hindus. The temple is called Pura Luhur Poten Mount Bromo. This temple is a place of worship for the Tengger people who are Hindu.
