The Hidden Beauty of Ternate City

Ternate City, located in North Maluku, has many attractive tourist destinations. The area of ​​Ternate City is 5,795, 4 km², consisting of 5,544.55 km² and land area of ​​250.85 km². There are many natural attractions in the form of beaches, mountains, lakes, to waterfalls to the fortresses of the colonizers (Portuguese and Dutch) that are worth a visit.

1. Jikomalamo Beach
Sunset views become the main icon of Jikomalamo Beach. The beauty of the combination of blue and orange from the sky so hunted by tourists.

2. Lake Ngade (Laguna Lake)

3. Sulamadaha Beach

4. Mount Gamalama
Mountain with a height of 1,715 meters above sea level is very beautiful. Because the mountain is like located on an island surrounded by the sea.

5. Tolukko Fortress
The fort that stands on this hill is a Portuguese heritage. Initially, the fort was built for a spice storage center. Interestingly, there is a story about a secret tunnel that connects the fort and the beach directly. However, the castle building underwent a restoration in 1996, which made the tunnel closed.

7. Kastela Beach

8. Fortress of Kalamata
The initial purpose of building this Portuguese fortress was to face the Spanish attack on Tidore Island. Now, you can visit it as a place that holds the history of Indonesia's struggle. The design of the castle is similar to the four cardinal points with pointed ends.

9. Lake Tolire
There are two Tolire lakes, big and small. Both are at the foot of Mount Gamalama, so it has very cold air.

10. The rocks of the eruption of Mount Gamalama in Batu Angus
Batu Angus is a destination not to be missed while in Ternate City. It is located only 10 kilometers from the city center and not far from the airport. here we can see chunks of rock which is said to be the former lava of Mount Gamalama which erupted in 1907 which had frozen.

11. Fort Oranje
The oranje fort used by the Dutch originally came from an old fort built by the Portuguese and inhabited by Malays so that it was named Benteng Benteng. 

Located in the center of Ternate City precisely in Gamalama Village which is located at Jalan Hasan Boesoeri, Central Ternate, Ternate, North Maluku
