Blue fire activity in this world can only be seen in 2 places in the world, namely in the crater of Mount Ijen in Indonesia and another in Iceland. Its appearance is sometimes big, small, or even invisible. The local weather greatly influenced its appearance.
Ijen Crater is located on Mount Ijen which is located on the border of Bondowoso Regency and Banyuwangi Regency, East Java Province. Mount Ijen has a height of 2,443 meters and a slope of 40 degrees. Ijen Crater is an acidic crater lake that sits at the top of Mount Ijen with a lake depth of 200 meters. Ijen Crater is in the area of Ijen Tourism Park, Bondowoso Regency and Banyuwangi Regency, East Java. Every morning around 02.00 to 04.00, around the crater you can find the phenomenon of blue fire or blue fire, which is unique in this place.
Blue Fire itself is the reaction of natural gas when it meets oxygen at a certain level. The result of this reaction looks like a blue flame. Because of its beauty, Mount Ijen is one of the destinations that tourists regularly visit, both domestic and foreign.
The Blue Fire phenomenon in Ijen Crater may have existed for hundreds or even thousands of years ago. However, its existence was only known by the public around the 1950s. It is most likely that the discoverers were local residents who were mining sulfur because Ijen Crater was a traditional sulfur mining area.
The blue flames can only be seen in the early morning at Ijen Crater, before sunrise. The peak of the moment of beauty of Ijen Crater lies when the sun is in the other hemisphere. This bright color comes from the high temperature in the crater.
After enjoying the sight of the blazing 'blue fire' in the crater of Mount Ijen, don't forget to take the time to see the sunrise. But be careful, Ijen Crater is also one of the largest acidic craters in the world. This crater has a very high acidity level, which is close to zero so that it can dissolve the human body quickly.

Mount Papandayan

Mount Papandayan is a strato volcano located between two villages, Sirnajaya and Kramatwangi, Cisurupan District, Garut Regency, Indonesia. The mountain with an altitude of 2,665 meters above sea level is located about 30 km southwest of Garut City.
Mount Papandayan is quite comfortable for visitors, including those who are not familiar with climbing activities. because the paths are so organized, some of them have been made terraces using stone structures. Many stalls and toilets are available at a number of points, this is very helpful for visitors who are tired, hungry, or just want to pee ..
The first spot on Mount Papandayan is the Sulfur Crater. The white smoke billowing into the air is one of the beauties of Mount Papandayan. This crater is not very wide and is not at the top of the mountain, considering that Papandayan is a strato-shaped volcano. There are several craters, one main crater and several small craters that are also seen emitting smoke. The crater area is bordered by a guardrail, with the intention of prohibiting visitors from approaching. However, there are still visitors who walk closer to the crater just to see or take pictures.
The second spot is the Dead Forest which is one of the hallmarks of the beauty of Mount Papandayan. This dead forest is formed from dead cantigi trees so that only the dry trunks remain. Even so, these barren trees provide their own beauty. The location of this dead forest is above the main crater of Mount Papandayan.
The next spot is Padang Edelweiss, besides dead forest, Mount Papandayan is famous for its Edelweiss Field. Edelweiss is very much found at the top of Papandayan. However, this arena is a forbidden area to be visited for safety reasons. But don't worry, we can still see this Edelweiss flower between Pondok Saladah and the Dead Forest.

The next spot is the Hot Water Pool which is located in the vehicle parking area. You can soak in this hot pool and spend starting from IDR 25,000. Soak while looking at the beauty of Mount Papandayan.

The night sky when it is clear over Mount Papandayan is very beautiful. The stars shone bright so clearly. The stars slowly began to disappear, replaced by warm and yellow sunlight that began to appear around 05.30 WIB. In Papandayan, there are several spots that are perfect for enjoying the process of the sunrise. For example in Bukit Soni, Camp Ghoober Hoet, and Camp Pondok Saladah. Pondok Saladah is a large flat area and very strategic for setting up tents. There are also abundant water sources here. MCK facilities and many stalls.
When using public transportation from the direction of Garut, we head to Cisurupan. From Cisurupan there is no public transportation anymore, so we have to charter a pick-up car at a rate of Rp. 250,000 per way. But if we don't bring a large group, it's better to use a motorcycle taxi service with an average rate of Rp. 25,000 (depending on the negotiation).

Talaga Bodas Crater is located in Sukamenak Village, Wanaraja District, Garut Regency, Indonesia, Garut City is about 25 km or an hour's drive. The route to this tourist attraction is quite easy, although the road is not very good.
The beauty of the Talaga Bodas crater is actually famous since the Dutch East Indies era. Talaga bodas in Indonesian means lake / white lake. This is because its location is indeed a small lake in a former crater with white sulfur water. Here there is still volcanic activity in the form of hot water and sulfur. The crater water contains solfatara gas which makes the Talaga crater water very acidic so it is corrosive. The crater itself is still active, although it is not dangerous and safe to visit.
Currently, there are arrangements for places in the Talaga Bodas area. Now, private vehicles cannot enter directly into the crater area, but must stop at the entrance gate area. All vehicles must park here. From here we can walk to the location of the crater, or use a motorcycle taxi that specifically transports visitors there for about 700 meters. Stalls are also only available in the parking area, unlike before, which was directly on the edge of the crater.

There are several places that can be visited in the Talaga Bodas natural tourism park area. The main thing is of course the crater area. Now, in the crater area there are no stalls like before, so you have to bring your own food / drink here.

Another place that can be visited is a hot tub. The location is in the right area of the crater. The pool is open, directly on the edge of the crater. To get to this location, we just need to walk along the route to the right of the crater. In addition to this hot spring wading pool, there are also 7 fountains; hot water soaking pool which is also believed by local people to bring blessings. This location has been marked by Google Maps
