Geopark Ranah Minang Silokek is located in Jorong Tanjung Medan, Nagari Silokek, Sijunjung Regency, West Sumatra Province. This geopark area is quite broad, because it covers more than 1,300 km² and is located in 2 sub-districts, namely Sijunjung and Sumpur Kudus districts. Inaugurated as a Geopark on February 8, 2018 and officially holds the status as a National Geopark (earth park area), starting on Friday (30/11/2018). until now it is still being addressed.Geopark Ranah Minang Silokek has geological advantages, has a traditional village, has a Rajo Ibadat museum and library, there is another Biology Center located in the Paru area. It's not difficult to get to that natural tourist attraction. It only takes about 15 minutes from the center of the capital city of Sijunjung (Muaro Sijunjung) with a distance of about 16 km. The presence of the Minang Silokek Geopark complements the two other Geoparks that previously existed in West Sumatra, namely the Sianok Gorge Geopark in Agam Regency and the Sawahlunto Geopark in Sawahlunto City.The facilities provided are quite supportive, with places for selfies, prayer rooms and toilets provided.
