Ciletuh Geopark is located in Pelabuhanratu, Sukabumi Regency, West Java Province, Indonesia. Ciletuh Palabuhanratu Geopark which covers 8 sub-districts with a total area of 1,261 square kilometers.This Geopark has received recognition from UNESCO at the same time as the Rinjani Geopark (Lombok Island).The eight sub-districts included in the Ciletuh Geopark are Cisolok District, Cikakak District, Palabuhanratu City, Simpenan District, Waluran District, Ciemas District, Ciracap District and Surade District.According to research conducted by several geologists – both local and international – the rocks in this area are almost hundreds of millions of years old. More or less, these rocks existed before the island of Java was actually formed. This is proven by the variety of rocks from the elements found in other provinces on the island of Java. At the Ciletuh Geopark tourist location, we can enjoy natural views ranging from beaches, waterfalls to the best photo spots. There are many tourist spots in this area. Ideally, when visiting the Ciletuh Geopark it will take 3-4 days if you want to enjoy most of the natural attractions in the geopark. But if you only have limited time, we can still visit several main locations in the Ciletuh Geopark which can be reached in one day, such as :Panenjoan Hill, which is a hill from which you can see views of rice fields surrounded by forest trees that form a mega amphitheater. This hill is a popular tourist attraction in the Ciletuh Geopark.Cimarinjung Waterfall is also located in Ciwaru Village, on the Cimarinjung River. Its height is more than 50 meters. To enjoy its beauty, we have to pass through a path filled with rocks.Apart from Cimarinjung Waterfall, we need to visit Sodong Waterfall which has quite a large water discharge. This waterfall, which is located in Ciwaru Village, is often called the Twin Waterfall because there are two waterfall streams next to each other.Puncak Darma is the highest point in the Ciletuh Geopark. The location is towards Palangpang Beach. At this peak, we can enjoy a stunning sunset. Apart from that, there are still many beautiful locations that are interesting to visit. Call it Curug Awang, Curug Cikanteh, and Palangpang BeachThe distance to this Geopark from the city of Sukabumi via Pelabuhan Ratu is 92 km. Another alternative is via Central Jampang. As a world-famous place, this location can of course be accessed via Google Maps to make searching easier.
